BIOGRAPHY Jessica, born as Jessica Akua Boatemaa Opare- Saforo on the 29th of April 1981, is an ace broadcaster in media circles in Ghana. She discovered her passion for radio at the age of 20 when she first entered university. Whiles in university, she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Psychology. She started her career in radio at Vibe Fm, where she was hosting a youth program called “Teen Vibes” once a week and was soon moved to host a primetime show on the same network called, “The Big Lunch”. She stayed at Vibe fm for four years and went on to becoming the first woman to host a late afternoon program on Ghanaian radio. Jessica at the time was rubbing shoulders in a fight for listenership, with other male broadcasters who had been in the industry well before her, but did not waver. She made her mark and left an impression before moving on to her current radio station, Citi Fm. In the following years she broke out onto Ghanaian television, hosting a reality TV show called Miss Malaika Ghana. Soon after also hosting “Stars of the Future” a reality TV talent hunt series. Jessica has a passion for her work and loves what she does on a daily basis. Her alluring voice has won her many contracts as well as being “the voice” for some major telecom giants in the country. She has also compered some major events in the country and is one of the best female Emcee’s in Ghana today. Jessica is currently the Programmes Manager of Citi fm and hosts three major programmes on air. “Brunch in the Citi” , a music program for people at work, “Sister- Sister”, the most exciting and interactive all-women talk show on Ghanaian radio today and “The upside down show”, a light hearted informative and entertaining program on Friday nights. She loves to shoot pool, watch movies and hang out with close family and friends. Her affable personality has won her many hearts in Ghana and has made her a trendsetter and a role model for many young people. |
